Muun x New Tendency collaborate on a new Modular Bed

I like a bedroom to be simple – a calm and silence place, not too distracting. The bed which Berlin-based design practice New Tendency designed for muun fully meets these needs. Inspired by the visionary design approach of American modernists it’s resolutely modern and yet timeless.

“We refused to let the design concept for the bed be subject to any rigid rules. We wanted something that stood above commonly known categories like box spring or futon. We wanted it to be as many-sided as comfort itself.”

The modular, adjustable bed gives individuals a choice. Its frame is made of lightweight powder-coated aluminium (a favourite material of New Tendency). Silky to touch, the frame is available in three different colourways: anthracite, white and rosé.

The bed is adjustable in depth – a simple turn of the bed’s legs gives a choice of two different ledges for the mattress to rest on. You can also choose between a 11cm box spring or a padded, wooden headboard – or choose both. Both can be added to the bed at any time and are upholstered in a grey or muun blue premium textile. A specially formed slatted base, made of solid hardwood and flexible links is also included.

You can order your customized version here. Good night!
