8 Tips how to Furnish a Small Apartment

This small apartment has only 42 square metres, but each of its three rooms is lovingly furnished with a mixture of vintage furniture and modern design classics. The soft hues and the slender furniture leave enough space to breathe.

1.) Round tables are perfect for small spaces. Their rounded shape creates a comfortable dining room environment. This one is from Artek, with white laminate coating and natural lacquered birch legs.

 

2.) Storage beds are great for small nurseries and provide enough space for toys, books and all the stuff the little ones need. My favourite: Ikeas Flekke Daybed with two drawers!

 

3.) Don’t be afraid to go dark and dramatic with wall colours. In fact, dark walls appear to go deep into space.

 

4.) A great and simple way to divide small spaces is to use curtains!

 

5.) When you hang multiple pictures in a group its important to keep a balance. Keep heavy pieces to the bottom and left, because the eye starts on the left.

 

6.) Furniture on wheels are incredibly handy and it’s easy to clean the floor underneath them. Also they can be moved to open up a play area for the kids or for your daily yoga routine.

 

7.) The dining table is a great place to showcase for your favourite objects!

 

 

8.) Bathroom stools can be used in many ways: to take a seat, to put down your clothes and for kids to sit and stand on.
