City Guide: A weekend in Göteborg

Gothenburg_Travel

The best way to explore Göteborg is by strolling around town. Sweden’s second largest city has everything you need for a successful shopping spree: small indie shops and local brands. Buy shrimps at the “Feskekörka”, try the biggest cinnamon buns in the world at Café Husaren and have a coffee break in one of the cozy cafés in the capital of “fika” (fika = the Swedish tradition of having a coffee and slowing down for a moment).

For shopping you should visit the area around trendy Magasinsgatan and Vallgatan. You’ll find plenty of interior design and fashion shops there. It’s also a great area for eating out or grabbing a drink.

Mouche
My favourite fashion boutique in Gothenburg! In the buzzing area of Vasastan you will find ‘The Apartment’. In this incredible 18th century place you will find an extraordinary and inspiring shopping experience in a warm and welcoming setting of a home. But not only fashion labels like MSGM, Vanessa Bruno or Tibi, no everything that catches your eye is for sale: the astounding lights by Tom Dixon, the hand wowed carpets by Layered to the paint on the walls.
