Today I’m loving the carpets from Sera Helsinki, a Finnish brand providing handmade woolen carpets and cotton towels from pure ecological raw materials. All of their products are handmade in Ethiopia, combining Finnish design and Ethiopian craftsmanship. The brand’s aim is to empower the most vulnerable groups in Ethiopia – people with disabilities and single mothers. The story began in 2012, when founder Anna and her family moved to Ethiopia and today Sera Helsinki empowers over 160 artisans, most of them blind.
