Victoria, where do you live?
I live in Lucerne, a city in the heart of Switzerland. My apartment is close to the train station. It’s located in a really nice part of the “Neustadt”.

Three adjectives to describe your city?
Small, cosy and sweet.

Where do you get the best coffee in town?
I am really addicted to coffee and I can not live without it. The small coffee bar „Alfred“ (Bleicherstrasse 1) is my favourite address. They also offer great homemade cakes.

The best restaurant for a date night?
I like Italian and Thai food. Especially at „Thai Garden“ (Pilatusstrasse 29) or at the Italian restaurant „La Cucina“ (Pilatusstrasse 29). In both places you will find the typical food in a good atmosphere.

The best place to grab a drink in the evening?
One of my favorite places is „Karel Korner“ (Winkelriedstrasse 30). They offer a exquisite selection of cocktails. It’s a nice place to meet your friends.

Your favourite boutique?
Ehrenzeller (Bundesstrasse 34) is a boutique for interior accessories. You can find scented candles from Astier de Villatte and also a big selection of Pharmacy Santa Maria Novella products from Florence here. A great place to discover new products.

Your favourite online shop?
Mooris.ch is like a virtual friend, it’s an online concept store with a daily selection of products presented in a very aesthetic way. These products are only available for seven days, but you can also buy selected items from their permanent collection.

A new store/restaurant/club in town we should know?
„Zur Werkstatt“ (Waldstätterstrasse 18) opened about six months ago with a striking new concept. The dishes change daily and the guests have to pick up their meal in the kitchen.

Your favourite beauty address?
Close to my apartment there’s a special kind of drug store called „Luna“ (Pilatusstrasse 41) selling natural beauty products and an excellent customer service.

Your favourite museum/gallery?
I prefer the art museum of KKL Lucerne. There are always interesting modern art exhibitions going on.

Where do you take out-of-town friends?
In summer, I take them to the farmers’ market which takes places near the river Reuss on Saturday mornings. Afterwards I invite them for a brunch and a city stroll.

Which hotel can you recommend?
The Hotel Anker (Pilatusstrasse 36) opened recently. I’ve haven’t stayed there yet but I think it’s great for a city trip. It’s just about ten minutes away from the train station.

Which is your favourite Swiss product?
I adore cheese as well as Meringues de la Gruyère. Gruyère is a small village in the canton of Fribourg.

Who is your favourite Swiss designer?
My favorite Swiss designers are Claudia Bertini and Julia Seemann.

Your favourite Swiss author?
I like the books of Martin Suter. My favourite read is “Die dunkle Seite des Mondes”.

Which souvenir should I bring from your city?
Of course you can bring some chocolate. If you want to spend more money you can also buy a nice Swiss watch. But for a unique souvenir I would recommend a special balm they sell at the old pharmacy “Alte Suidtersche Apotheke“ (Bahnhofstrasse 21). You won’t get it anywhere else and it’s a great all-purpose cream.

Where do you spend a day off?
I often stroll around the city with friends. And then having tea or coffee. But I also enjoy staying at home. I love trying new recipes, especially baking.

Even beautiful without sunshine (though there’s plenty usually)

The ONE tourist mistake one should not make?
Don’t feed the pigeons near the lake and don’t get too close to the swans – they could bite you!

Tell us a secret!
In front of the Jesuitenkirche you can find the best french croissants in town at the farmers’ market every Tuesday and Saturday!

– Merci, Victoria! –
