Travel: Raes on Wategos, Byron Bay, Australia

We can’t travel, but we can dream and there’s been a LOT of dreaming about a trip here lately. Raes on Wategos is definitely a place I would visit. The iconic seafront boutique hotel was built in the 1970s, located just a wave away from Wategos Bay. The whitewashed villa is the perfect blend of modern luxury and bohemian grandeur.

With its beachfront open-air restaurant, exotic décor, mother of pearl day spa, climbing fuchsia bougainvillea and laid-back coastal charm it’s a dreamy location for those drawn to the serene coastal charm of Byron Bay. destination for couples and families alike as it offers a unique and unforgettable Byron Bay experience.

The Moroccan-inspired Mediterranean villa has just seven suites and penthouses, each with its own signature style and all of them private, plush and adorned with unique interior artworks by resident artist, David Bromley. The refurbishment has been done by Sydney based interior designer Tamsin Johnson, who used natural fabrics, rattan furniture, sisal rugs and a monochrome muted palette.
