House Plant Crush: The Medinilla Magnifica

A couple of days ago I discovered the Medinilla Magnifica on Ilenia Martini’s Instagram and instantly fell in love with this smashing beauty. It is a species native to the Philippines, an epiphyte, growing up to 3m tall with firm, leathery leaves and its flowers growing in panicles up to 50cm long with ovid pink bracts. But you don’t have to live in the tropics, as the Medinilla Magnifica is also common as a house plant in cooler climes. Here are my favourite impressions – do you share my love?
