Muuto is introducing their Design Novelties for Spring

Muuto Wrap Lounge Chair

To be honest – I had lost sight of the Danish brand Muuto for a bit, but now they are back on my radar – big time! Muuto is introducing a range of new designs featuring a striking and soft lounge chair, an atmospheric and functional portable lamp, a coffee table inspired by the traditional tile table as well as new bright colours on some of their bestselling designs.

The Wrap Lounge Chair

The Wrap Lounge Chair designed by Normal Studio is a soft armchair with a duvet-like textile wrapped around its shell, allowing a deep sense of comfort and inviting a myriad of sitting positions for reading and relaxing. Its generous shape is supported by a light steel frame creating a contrasting image of airy lightness. This makes it a sculptural piece playing with contrasts of proportion and materiality; abundant and barely-there, smooth and solid.

Ease Portable Lamp

Inspired by shapes of traditional table lamps, the Ease Portable Lamp transforms this typology into a carriable size suitable to take wherever. The lamp offers a high-quality dimmable, no-glare light with three levels, striking a balance between atmospheric and functional light. The design has a distinct lightness to it, with the top and bottom gently touching. A slightly flared bottom mimics the lip of a vase in a grounding gesture that allows the base to be slimmer and easier to grab. These gentle ways give the lamp a human-like quality, standing confidently with precisely ease.

In other words, Ease Portable Lamp is a humble friend with a strong character that works alone or in repetition in any setting; from the bedside, reading nook and home office to the restaurant table, co-working space or library. It has a small footprint, yet gives off a lot of light.

Couple Coffee Table

Inspired by the traditional tile table, the Couple Coffee Table is a refined merging of materials; FSC™️-certified wood and stone. Made in a tactile ceramic stone material — a hard and dense clay type similar to Bone China in terms of durability and strength — it is a reference to the continued aesthetic relevance and strength of the brick. This sense of tactility is enhanced by the option of two different table top tiles; one with a plain and functional surface, the other with a more sculptural wavy feel.

The table is available in three sizes, from the petite one-tile to the grand coffee table with plenty of room for books and objects of affection.
