Saint Benedict House by Poot Architecture

Long time no interior inspiration! I promise to do better in 2023 😉 And here we go with this minimal house located in Mortsel, Belgium, designed by Poot Architecture. In a street with mostly monotonous houses from the 50s and 60s, the rare bay windows are the only inspiring elements. The design interprets the typical aspects: the neutral red brick is used in a vertical tile bond, the bay window is executed as a round shape.

The floor plan is organised around the central oval staircase: The living space is distributed on two levels for the different moments of the day: homework, reading, playing. A double-height kitchen on the street side gives the house a large dimension and provides the link between the different living spaces. The bedrooms and an additional study, on the other hand, emphasise seclusion and tranquillity.
