This autumn &Tradition broadens its range in various categories encompassing storage solutions objects lighting special and limited-edition pieces and its own line of refined scented products.
This makes you look forward to autumn – here are my favourites from the new collection!
Momento by Jaime HayonA signature collection of objects in celebration of the little joys in life. Named after the Spanish word for ‘moment’ Momento is a collection of home décor items designed to encourage us to slow down and savour life’s simple pleasures. The introduction of the collection includes a jug a candleholder and two vases – each a thoughtful combination of Hayon’s sculptural language and signature bold colours.
Featuring a pendant in two sizes as well as a table lamp Mist is inspired by the warm diffused light of morning rays shining through the haze offering a modern take on the classic globe light.”With Mist, we want to speak to the kind of light that comes through when the air is heavy, a kind of sparkling, diffused light. The series will add depth to a room instead of being too harsh,” explain Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt founders of All the Way to Paris.
Sculpture and light converse in the new Pivot portable lamp. The lamp’s geometric shade is positioned at a 45-degree angle to the base creating a soft diffusion that emulates the warm glow of a modern-day candle. An exploration of sculptural foundations in light pieces Pivot represents a hybrid product that blurs the lines between object and portable lamp. Showcasing a unique duality the lamp appears distinctly different as day turns to night.
Renowned artist and designer Jaime Hayon has created a Limited Edition of his Formakami design from 2015 – a contemporary Japanese-inspired lighting range – for &Tradition. This unique edition of the pendant draws inspiration from the traditional hand-painted lanterns from Kyoto combined with Hayon’s signature bold colours and organic shapes.
The Trace cabinet by Space Copenhagen melds a contemporary silhouette with classic expression providing storage in an elegant frame to display cherished items. The name ‘Trace’ was chosen to reflect the concept of collecting and the pieces of our lives these items represent. “We wanted to design a cabinet that acted as a frame for the items placed within it, rather than drawing attention to itself,” explain Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou founders of Space Copenhagen.
