What better way to celebrate the return of spring than with a sunny city break? The city of Antwerp has been known as the diamond capital of the world for several centuries – now art and design is flourishing.
August Antwerp calls itself “a modern-day sanctuary hidden in a vibrant city” . Created with a deep respect for its heritage, August is a modern-day sanctuary – a former Augustinian cloister which has been renovated adding a contemporary modernism under the guidance of legendary Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen.
You can enjoy a drinks and savoury bar food at the August bar in the high-ceilinged chapel or in the wonderful gardens under the covered heated terrace. The August restaurant is curated and envisioned by well-known chef Nick Bril, the menu focusing on product, season and terroir.
August also offers a spa area, the perfect place to recover from a long day exploring the city of Antwerp. The dedicated wellness area invites guests to warm up in the sauna, hammam or on the hot stone. Cool down again with a fresh ice scrub, in the outdoor shower on the adjacent ‘Cour Anglaise’ or in the outdoor swimming pond. August wellness has a separate entrance and is also open to non-hotel guests.
