Trendwatch: Art Mirrors

Designed in 1970 Ettorre Sottsas iconic Ultrafragola Mirror was probably the first art mirror, and now 50 years later they are having a moment again. And here are my favourites.

Simone Noa

Simone Noa is a Copenhagen based artist and her painted mirrors are more art than mirrors. I just can’t get enough of them.

Bi-Rite

In 2016 Brooklyn based Bi-Rite Studio was launched by Cat Snodgrass as a design store specializing in 20th century furniture and object, known for its Pop-inspired selection with a bold color pallet and outspoken curatorial style. In 2020 the brand expanded to include their own designs and the Capsule Mirrors made of satin lacquered wood are their latest coup.

Ferm Living

Ferm Living is featuring two individual mirrors: the curvy Pond series explores organic shapes for a classic mirror with a metal frame. The mirrors can be hung more ways so that you can find the perfect fit for the room and your needs.

Gustaf Westman

When talking about the Mirror trend, there is no way around Gustaf Westman’s and his Curvy Mirrors m which are literally everywhere on Instagram these days. The Cury Mirror is now also available in a cute smaller size.
