On the Left Bank, sheltered by the plane trees and close to the Jardin des Plantes and the Seine, the Orso Group has just opened their seventh property with 44 rooms: Hotel Orphée. The architect in charge of the renovation was Éloïse Bosredon (Hotel Voltaire in Arles, Cyril Lignac’s chocolate factory in Paris XI). Bosredon cleverly balanced the property’s 19th-century bones with a penchant for modernism: Art Deco shapes on headboards and hallway rugs, as well as arched doorways and an earth-tone palette, are strong signatures, while some rooms contain Okoumé wood storage units inspired by Le Corbusier’s Cabanon.
As soon as you arrive, the establishment will charm you, just like the poet, musician and prophet of Greek mythology from whom it derives its name. His music was said to enchant all living things and, as a nod to this figure and his magical skills, the transistor on the counter will play a soft musical soundtrack to your stay.
The counter of the Orphée, decorated like a small sunny corner on the shores of the Mediterranean, welcomes guests throughout the day. Gather around this sublime bar to treat yourself to a piece of homemade cake on your arrival, take a break over a drink, enjoy a delicious cocktail after a day of discovery. Breakfast can be enjoyed at the counter or in the comfortable and beautiful dedicated breakfast space.
Secretly tucked away in the depths of the Orphée is a hammam, decorated with flamboyant red earthenware, it offers a timeless space where steam, heat and essential oils mingle to offer you infinite relaxation.
